About Us

UNESCO is the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization. It is a specialized institute of the UN General Assembly.

UNESCO headquarters in Paris and was born in 1945 in the aftermath of World War II.

Its charter is a document that has inspired the world and that begins with the famous phrase "[... since wars begin in the soul of man is the soul of men to be built in the defenses of peace]. "

This is the ultimate goal that we propose UNESCO's Member States (now 192), with projects ranging from protection of artistic and natural heritage to the preservation and study of the folk traditions of the Nations.

UNESCO has also the task entrusted by the General Assembly of the United Nations to promote and disseminate the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

The Italian Federation of UNESCO Clubs (FICLU) is a Non Governmental Organization associated with the World Federation of Clubs, Centres and Associations UNESCO (FMACU), the only NGO that has the right to bear the name of ' truth , of which ideals and goals of action is the interpreter of the Italian territory

The FMACU brings together some 5000 Clubs and Centres active in all continents, in over one hundred countries, working for the proper purpose of the Organization.

In fact, for fifty years, the UNESCO Clubs are privileged interpreters, on the ground, the ideals of UNESCO action of which share the goals and operational commitment.

Since the FMACU plays an advisory and operational at UNESCO, based in Paris at the Organization.

UNESCO Clubs and Centres have associations to which youth and adults, from all fields of study, work and professional expertise, who share the ideals of UNESCO action, trying to achieve through concrete initiatives inspired by the concept expressed in ' Constitutive Act of UNESCO: "Since wars have their origin in the minds of men, is in the spirit of men to be raised the defenses of peace." In a world where cooperation between individuals and peoples reveals itself every day more essential, UNESCO Clubs and Centres aim to give everybody the chance to know different peoples and civilizations.

The UNESCO Club MONZA, pursuing the goals expressed in the statutes of the National Federation, aims to:

  • promote understanding of the ideals of UNESCO and Action

work towards the success of the proposed programs;

  • contribute to the formation of democratic citizens and especially young people, through studies and activities related to the issues proposed by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights;
  • spread through the activities of its members, the principles of peace, a better knowledge of different civilizations and international understanding, in accordance with the ideals of UNESCO and the action;
  • identify artistic and natural beauty which spread knowledge;
  • prepare, publish and disseminate, including through the computer network, information materials;
  • organizing meetings, conferences, exhibitions, seminars;
  • develop projects in collaboration with institutions in the area, with public and private in Italy, in Europe and abroad working in related fields;
  • conducting any other activities can contribute to achieving the purposes of association and promote the growth of cultural and civic partners.
